Find the Pattern — Discover What Repeats Beneath Different Projects

How to identify recurring problems, judgment, principles, and outcomes so different Projects begin telling the same professional story.

01

Different industries can still share one pattern

A fintech Project, SaaS Project, and education Project may all show that you simplify complexity or build trust.

02

Step 1 — Separate surface from underlying value

Surface includes industry, tools, and format. Underlying value is the recurring problem, decision style, or outcome underneath.

03

Framework: Projects → Recurrence → Abstraction → Pattern → Identity Signal

Projects — which work are you examining?

Recurrence — what appears repeatedly?

Abstraction — after removing industry and output, what remains common?

Pattern — can you name the recurring value in one short phrase?

Identity Signal — how does that pattern help others remember you?

04

Step 2 — Find recurring problems

Do you repeatedly enter environments with messy information, low trust, weak conversion, broken process, or unclear decisions?

05

Step 3 — Find recurring judgment

Do you tend to simplify, structure, prioritize, de-risk, humanize, or make things visible? This often becomes a professional fingerprint.

06

Step 4 — Find recurring principles

A repeated belief such as “clarity before speed” or “proof before claim” can connect very different Projects into a coherent worldview.

07

Step 5 — Find recurring outcomes

Do similar results keep appearing: higher trust, faster decisions, lower friction, clearer alignment, or better adoption?

08

Step 6 — Test the pattern with counterexamples

If the pattern is so broad that every Project fits, it means little. Find work that does not fit to test its boundary.

09

A pattern worksheet

Write down five important Projects. For each one, note: Problem → Judgment → Principle → Result. Circle the words or ideas that recur at least three times.

10

Conclusion

Do not only ask, “Do my Projects look similar?”

Ask: “What valuable thing do I keep repeating even when the context changes?”

Projects → Recurrence → Abstraction → Pattern → Identity Signal.
