Forwork

Against reducing people

Chapter 3 states what Forwork opposes: every attempt to turn a person into a title, score, keyword set or convenient summary that erases context and the right to self-interpretation.

A philosophy of people, work and technology
Part 1 · Opening

A box large enough for the system and too small for a person

A profile becomes a row of titles, years, skills and a match score. The reduction is useful, but it becomes harmful when the row is mistaken for the person.

Forwork must structure information while remaining honest about what any structure leaves outside.

A model is a way of seeing, never the whole person.
Part 2

Simplification is necessary; flattening people is not

A responsible summary preserves routes back to context, evidence and limits.

Forwork needs layers: concise enough to begin, deep enough to verify and open enough to correct.

Good simplification opens a story; flattening pretends it is finished.
Part 3

Titles, skills and scores are signals

Each can help within a defined purpose, but none is a general definition of human value.

Forwork rejects a single score for a person and requires every assessment to state its scope.

A signal may direct attention; it must not end curiosity.
Part 4

Without context, a true fact can tell a false story

Job changes, gaps and failed projects have multiple possible meanings.

Context—problems, constraints, roles, collaborators and decisions—must be core data.

Without context, facts can become prejudice written in objective language.
Part 5

A responsible model knows its limits

Forwork must separate facts, verification, inference and hypotheses.

AI should reveal missing data and uncertainty rather than hide them behind confidence.

A system’s humility begins with: we do not know yet.
Part 6

People described by a system need a right to explain

They must be able to inspect, correct, contextualize and challenge interpretations.

Self-interpretation does not replace evidence, but no algorithm should become the sole narrator.

People cannot rewrite every fact, but they must not be interpreted without a voice.
Part 7

This belief must create product boundaries

Forwork should reject total human scores, deterministic career predictions and unnecessary sensitive inferences.

Every API, ranking and AI feature must be tested against context, consent and control.

A philosophy is real when it is strong enough to make a product say no.
Part 8 · What Forwork opposes

Against systems that make people easier to classify and harder to understand

Forwork does not oppose structure or evaluation; it opposes forgetting their limits and consequences.

A summary must never become destiny.

Forwork opposes every system that makes people easier to classify and harder to understand.
