Relevance Turns Trust into Interest — People Must See Not Only That You Are Credible, but That You Fit
Why credibility alone does not create interest and how to make the fit between your proof and the viewer's problem, context, and priorities visible.
Trust does not automatically create interest
Someone can be highly credible and still be irrelevant to a current client, recruiter, or partner need.
Step 1 — Understand the viewer's problem
Relevance begins with the problem they are solving and the constraints and priorities around it.
Framework: Credibility → Context Match → Relevance → Interest → Opportunity Fit
Credibility — does the proof show you can deliver?
Context Match — is your past work close enough to the present situation?
Relevance — can viewers see the connection clearly?
Interest — do they want to explore further?
Opportunity Fit — is there enough match for a conversation or offer?
Step 2 — Use comparable context
Projects do not need to be identical. Show similarities in problem type, scale, constraints, stakeholders, or decision complexity.
Step 3 — Make transferable value visible
An e-commerce Project may be relevant to fintech when the transferable value is experimentation, trust flow, or conversion under constraints.
Step 4 — Curate proof by audience
Recruiters may care about ownership and collaboration; clients about outcomes and reliability; partners about complementary strengths and trust.
Step 5 — Do not make viewers infer relevance
Say explicitly: “This case is relevant because…” or “Start with this Project if you care about…”
Step 6 — Relevance can come from thinking, not only work
Tips or Letters can reveal worldview, judgment, or principles that create fit before someone reads a Project.
A relevance checklist
Similar problem? Similar constraint? Similar stakeholder? Useful outcome? Transferable method? Two or three clear matches can significantly increase interest.
Conclusion
Do not only ask, “Is this proof strong?”
Ask: “Can the viewer immediately understand why this proof is relevant to their problem?”
Credibility → Context Match → Relevance → Interest → Opportunity Fit.
