A Letter to Myself on the First Day

The closing chapter: a letter to the newcomer of the first morning, remembering fear, failure, helping hands and the person formed across many years

You do not need to become the best person in the room to deserve being there; what matters most is who you become along the way
01

He writes to the person who entered the office on the first morning

That person carried a new backpack and a worried heart — afraid of not being good enough, making mistakes and being judged.

02

You do not need to be the best to deserve being here

Fear will help you learn and grow, but your worth is not a reward that appears only after other people approve.

03

Mistakes, rejection and failure do not make you smaller

Some projects will fail and some nights will make you question continuing. Those experiences are quietly teaching you steadiness.

04

You will meet people who believe in you more than you believe in yourself

Be grateful for those who offer trust and opportunity. One day you will become that person for someone else.

05

Courage, integrity, humility and success will take on new meanings

Courage is not the absence of fear, integrity is not always being right, humility is not self-erasure and success is not occupying the stage longest.

06

Do not let work take your life away

Go home when you can, call your parents and keep loved ones close. Some moments cannot be recreated by any achievement.

07

Life is not a race to see who arrives first

When you feel too slow, remember that speed is not the point. What matters is who you are becoming with every step.

08

Thank you for not giving up on the hardest days

Without the courage of the first-day self, the person of today would not exist. Ahead is not only a job, but a whole life waiting to be lived with kindness, courage and love.
