Opening an old folder

Perhaps… you have experienced this too.

One evening, you unexpectedly open an old folder.

• Projects completed many years ago.
• Names that once kept you awake.
• Designs revised dozens of times.
• Presentations prepared until midnight.

Back then, everything felt important.

So important… that we thought we would never forget.

But then…

Time quietly does its work.

And today, the first thing that returns is no longer the content of the project.

It is the people who walked through it with us.

It is strange.

Memory does not preserve everything.

It chooses what is worth keeping.

• We forget a spreadsheet, but remember the colleague who stayed until two in the morning.
• We forget a quotation, but remember the first client who trusted us when we had almost nothing.

Perhaps…

The most enduring part of any work is not stored in files.

It lives in the people who were changed after the work ended.

And perhaps… that is also the difference

between completing a project and leaving an imprint.

A project will eventually be archived.

But the way you made people feel may stay with them for many years.
